The ground breaking ceremony for the new St Ann Church was held on 21st July 2012. This is a historical moment for the parish after having waited for 6 years. The ceremony was officiated by Archbishop John Ha witnessed by a number of distinguished guests present like Dato Sri Michael Manyin, YB Dr. Jerip Susil, Datuk J.C. Fong and Datin Annie Fong, YBg Datuk Temonggong Datu Stephen Jussem and YBhg Pemancar Austin Dimin.
There was a good turnout for the ceremony especially from the Villages and Housing Estates of St Ann Parish and well wishers from Kuching and elsewhere.
