LATEST NEWS - RM1K PROJECT

The parish councilors on 2nd July 2011 took a major step to go ahead with the construction of the new St Ann Church costing at RM 7.5 million.

One of the major issue facing the parishioners is the lack of funds available to begin with the construction of the new Church. The present funds collected since 2006 stands at RM 3.03 million and this means that we have to find another RM 4.5 million to achieve the dream of a new St Ann Church.

The RM3M committee (RM 3 million) was formed to find ways as to how we can achieve this target of 4.5 million. And with this the idea of the RM1K was mooted.

What is the thrust and aim of the RM1K project?

Firstly, all villages and housing estates are strongly encouraged to contribute RM 1,000 in support of the RM1K project. The contribution can be collected over a period of 4-months that is from September to December 2011.

At the same time, the respective Pengerusi has to identify potential willing donors within and outside of the villages/housing estates who can contribute RM 1,000 and more.

The names are collated and then send to the RM3M Coordinator, Puan Cecilia Mawi in St Ann, who will then issue a courtesy letter as a follow up.

The RM1K project will begin with a soft launch on 27 August at the St Ann feast day Dinner. All potential contributors are invited to come on stage and presents their contribution of RM 1,000 and above to any of the three priests standing on the stage.

The RM3M committee has targeted RM 50,000 for the nite and we hope that many more generous benefactors will come forward in support of the RM1K project. For those who are unable to contribute the RM 1,000 for the nite, can make a pledge and your names will be taken down so that the RM3M coordinator can follow up with the person concerned on the matter.

Before the end of December 2011, the parish will report periodically on the outcome of the RM1K project.

The overall target for the RM1K project is RM 1.2 million and so we need to find as many as 1,200 generous contributors. The RM3M committee hopes that the parishioners will contribute generously for the success of the RM1K project.

The Lord always loves and bless a cheerful giver.

2011- ST ANN FEAST DAY III

The stories and miracles .....

2011- ST ANN FEAST DAY II

The laughter and joy ......

2011- ST ANN FEAST DAY

The feast day of St Ann on 24th July 2011 was a joyous and happy occasion for the parishioners, friends and others who came to join us for the feast day. Two miracles happened on the feast-day:

1. During the week leading up to the feast day there was constant heavy downpour especially towards the evening. But there was not even a drop of rain for both Saturday and Sunday.

2. The attap was already in a bad state due to the constant wear and tear and became even worse especially with the downpour. With this situation some of our electrical fittings could not be switched on because it caused the main electrical board to trip. Miraculously, the whole electrical fittings in the Baruk were in good working order on the most important day for the people of St Ann.
